When was the last time you picked up a paper map?
The image may bring back memories of trying to find somewhere whilst out driving - and the sometimes hilarious after effect of trying to fold them back up again.
Did you know that these are folded within seconds when put through our machines?
We've captured this short video of our machines at work folding a map, and here's how its done:
The printed map is fed into our Heidelberg machine at speed, before folding it in half. Once folded, it is then concertina folded 5 times to create that recognisable effect when fully unfolded. After the concertina folds, the map is cross-folded in half, then again once more to create the finished article. The actual process takes less than 10 seconds per map, which means our finishing capabilities are more than capable of handling large jobs.
Our machine is capable of taking sheets of paper up to B1. For context, that is 8 times the size of an A4 sheet of paper! So no matter what the needs, our machines can accommodate your requirements.
Once the machine has finished the process, the maps are collated and banded together, ready to be shipped.
We have other videos of our machines at work, all can be found over at our YouTube channel, or featured in our other blog posts.
In our factory here in Small Dole, we have a range of folding and finishing capabilities, so you can be sure that we have the capacity to provide for your project and have the knowledge and skill to turn it into a reality. We cater to a wide range of sectors and industries that require items for marketing, information leaflets for medical items, or finishing and binding for books and documents.
If you would like to discuss your project, then we'd love to hear from you - either email us or speak to us on the phone about your finishing requirements.
