The world of printing is a diverse one, with many different methods for many different applications. Some may be seasonal, some one-off and others for specific purposes.
This month, we have seen an increase in the number of Re-moist Gumming jobs. This may sound like a strangely-named and rare process but it is rather common, with a number of every day uses...it is also known as 'lick and stick' or goal post gumming. If you have ever sealed an reply-paid envelope, or torn a perforated form off - those will likely have been produced using this technique.
Re-moist gumming is where a strip of adhesive, or 'gum' is attached to the edges of a sheet of paper and this gum is activated by moisture (such as someone licking it) so it becomes sticky, where it can then be sealed to another sheet.
With our work this month, we have produced a variety of different solutions ranging from basic 4pp (printed pages) through to 10pp with perforations on folds and re-moist gum. With our experience we can offer a variety of solutions - get in touch with us and we will happily discuss your requirements and how we can best help you.
